“Flowers have always had important things to teach us about time”. -Michael Pollan
"This series represents the wild flora that I walked among while on my Camino from France to Spain: calla lilies, foxgloves, poppies... While walking for days your mind wanders and you can imagine a river of lotus flowers before you as the sun rises. This is the scene that I imagined one morning as I prepared for my walk."
This series represents my lived experience of walking the ancient pilgrimage trails of El Camino de Santiago from France to Spain. While on the Camino, I was able to fill a small sketchbook of impressions and drawings. After returning to home and studio I have enjoyed fleshing out the simple drawings into a series of paintings that encompass the physical and spiritual experience - sharing how it felt to be there.
