24" x 24" | mixed media on Baltic birch | custom made wood frame
Conceived during my Camino, this painting represents one of the most beloved women in my family, Rosalia. She was one of the first telephone operators in Cuba and her black beans were the most exquisite of any I’ve ever tasted.
The surface of this painting is highly textured to receive the multiple layers of acrylics, inks and a sentence of Cuban poetry at the bottom - the only word which is visible being “jazmín”, one of her favorite flowers.
