Dreaming in Porto | 24" x 48"

This series represents my lived experience of walking the ancient pilgrimage trails of El Camino de Santiago from Portugal to Spain. On the first day of my two week walk there was a storm brewing.  After coffee, I prepared my rain gear and set out to begin my journey.  As I departed Porto and arrived at the ocean I found that the sky cleared and filled with pink clouds - my favorite.  I took out my sketchbook and made a quick watercolor of the scene.  That moment inspired this painting. I love when nature reminds us to be in the moment.
